The £3bn upgrade to the Great Western line and the Northern Hub programme are just two of the big rail infrastructure projects that this Stockport firm has worked on.

It was founded in 1976 by managing director Michael Lundy, 64, and specialises in the fabrication, construction and installation of foundations, piles and steelwork for signal gantries and electrification structures above railway tracks.

Investment in hi-tech equipment has helped Lundy win contracts with the likes of Network Rail, Amey and Siemens. Sales reached £25.6m in 2015.
