Lundy Projects have begun work on the Birmingham Westside Metro extension for our client the Midland Metro Alliance.
When complete, the 2km+ line extension from Grand Central past Birmingham’s Town Hall to Centenary Square, will provide extra Metro stops in Birmingham city centre serving Victoria Square and the Paradise and Arena Central developments. It will also be the first modern tram line in the UK to operate entirely on battery power, removing the need for overhead wires to be fixed to listed buildings on the route and creating less of an environmental impact.
Lundy Projects are providing piling services and on- and off-track plant services on the project, which is currently progressing as planned.
